Petition: R.A.D. Self-Defense Class for Credit!
R.A.D. Systems of Self-Defense provides individuals of all genders and ages with self-defense classes comprised of lecture, discussion, maneuver practice, and optional simulations.
R.A.D classes offered through the UNC police only have the capacity to teach around 80 students per year, which is a small proportion of the approximate 29,000 students who attend UNC-Chapel Hill.
UNC students are striving to make R.A.D. Self-Defense become an LFIT (Life Fitness) and/or PHYA (Physical Activity) class available to students for credit. By making R.A.D available credit, more students would have the opportunity to learn self-defense.
