Gage Park Community Plan Partnership Interest Form
Dear Community Stakeholder or Youth Advocate,

CircEsteem is a youth development organization located in the Uptown neighborhood, and our mission is to unite youth across all backgrounds and identities by fostering self-esteem and mutual respect through the practice and performance of circus arts.

We have been a presence in the Gage Park community for seven years now through Sawyer Elementary School and recently received the My City. My Chi Community Anchor Organization Grant from the city of Chicago to create and implement a 2-year community plan for the youth of Gage Park. The grant seeks to help the community recover from the impact of COVID-19 as well as specifically address the resources currently unavailable or not advertised enough for Gage Park youth. Ideally, we would like to recruit 15 stakeholders and 10 Gage Park youth advocates who will come together three times a month to contribute their ideas to the community plan.

What these meetings and your commitment entails:
  • CircEsteem will pay each stakeholder's organization and youth advocate $100 per meeting.
  • Our first three meetings will be held on a Saturday at Sawyer Elementary School. Food + beverages will always be provided.
  • Stakeholders should choose 2-3 representatives, so they can rotate meetings in order to avoid absences or lack of input/engagement. However, we will happily accept and support organizations that can only provide one individual at this time!
  • We will immediately create and implement: (1) a community-wide needs assessment for youth and parents in the Gage Park Community and (2) our first major community event (one out of three for 2023 fully covered under the MCMF grant). This event will be held at Senka Park and will have CircEsteem performing a circus act. We will invite food vendors, local artists/businesses to sell work, bouncy houses, a DJ, a circus workshop, games, FREE back to school giveaways (i.e., book bags, school supplies, clothing), organizations promoting their resources, etc...we want the event to have a "carnival meets block party" feel!
  • Ultimately, the community plan will connect Gage Park youth to resources around the area while creating a powerful network of Gage Park stakeholders and advocates.

CircEsteem would be honored to partner up with you. Please fill out the form below to register your interest as a stakeholder or youth advocate. We thank you for your commitment and involvement in this amazing opportunity, and can't wait to work alongside you!
