Join us for Creative Arts Night on Friday, March 1 at Hooley Hall starting at 5 pm sharp! We plan to finish up by 8:00 pm.
We could use a few parent volunteers, please indicate
on the registration form if you can help.
Please fill out the form below, ranking the classes
according to your interest. Your favorite class should be #1 and your least
favorite # 6.
You will be taking three of the classes during the
evening, we will try to get you into the ones you like.

Class Descriptions:
A. Paper quilling: Quilling is an art form that involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs. The paper shape is manipulated to create designs on their own or to decorate other objects, such as greetings cards, pictures, or boxes.
B. Needle Felting: Come learn the basics of working with roving wool and how to Needle Felt. You will have the option to make a set of 4 - coasters, a brooch or melted monster/animal. Everyone will have a needle and piece of foam they can take home with extra roving wool if they do not finish their project. Please note the needles are sharp and you move them quickly in and out of the wool. If your 4-Her is not comfortable using other sharp craft/art tools (xacto knives, scissors, etc.) please do not sign them up for this class, or plan on attending with your child to supervise.
C.
String Art: String art is characterized by an arrangement
of colored thread or yarn strung between points to form geometric patterns or
representational designs. In this class you will draw your own design or choose
one that is provided; then pound nails into a board to stretch your string between.
D. Drawing: Tips and
tricks. Open to
artists of all levels of skills and experience. Methods to
help take your drawing skills to the next level, including understanding the
basics of setting up a good drawing, shading techniques, and various tips and
tricks for making your drawing come to life and actually look three dimensional.
Students will learn how to draw objects from real life.
E. Linoleum Block Printing: Students should come with an idea, or sketch of a simple design they want to carve on a 3” X 4.5” block. After carving they will apply ink and print several cards. This is a hands-on course with very sharp carving knives. Safety carving boards (which ensure the student is always carving away from him or herself) will be provided.
F. Polymer Clay 101 Class: The basics of working with polymer clay will be demonstrated, along with how to bake the clay for completed projects. Then there will be opportunities for free design, where participants can explore projects as they want. Or they may use the guides for whimsical projects such as, Smiley Snail picture holder, Rainbow Hedgehog Picture Holder, Dinosaur Pencil Topper, and Dancing Polar Bear Ornament.
