The Maryland School for the Blind (MSB) is partnering with Lions Camp Merrick (LCM) to offer a week long summer camp for blind and visually impaired students from across the state. This camp offers students the opportunity to learn outdoor sports activities. Through the expertise of specially trained staff from the Outreach and Recreation Departments at MSB, activities like fishing, canoeing, hiking, archery, rock wall climbing were adapted and made accessible for students to participate in. We are excited that the opportunity to partner with Lions Camp Merrick may be possible.
The mission of Camp Abilities at Lion's Camp Merrick is to empower children and teens with visual impairments to be physically active and productive members of their schools, towns, cities, and communities, as well as to become actively involved in nature. It teaches kids and teens what they can do in the areas of outdoor sports and recreation. For more information, contact Tim Taylor at

Cost: $500 ( **Lions' Clubs are actively raising funds to minimize the costs for those who need it. Ask your local club today!)
