Those in media manage the team image. Photos and videos capture our progress in and out the season, as well as at competitions, and are compiled and edited before being uploaded to social platforms. You will be able to learn proper camera operation, directing videos, and relevant editing software/techniques. Contacting sponsors and managing the budget are additional tasks closest to this sub-team, but are not required.

The main focus of this team is to program the robots to best address their respective challenges. After learning the Java programming language and FRC software used in creating/using robot code, you seek the "best" way to overcome the year's tasks with the team's robot. Doing so gives you valuable experience in the field, and has applications for all skill levels. Managing the robot's electronics/wiring is very relevant to programming, but not required.

Manufacturing broadly encompasses the "building" process of the robot. You will learn how to operate various machinery as well as shop safety, and participate in the construction process through machining and assembly. Design is an extension of manufacturing. While you are expected to also do such tasks, your first priority is creating effective designs and the iteration process. You are expected to gain insight by researching other teams and how well past designs addressed challenges. You must additionally consider how factors such as electrical component performance, wiring design, and software state will affect mechanical operation and maintainability.

Picking a sub-team does not restrict you to that role, but should represent what you do best. If you are unsure about what you want, or want to know more about a sub-team, feel free to ask others. You can always change it later if your interests differ, so don't feel pressured.
