Thank you for expressing interest in WEN's new Backyard Citizen Science Program! This program allows you and your community to make a difference by observing the natural world around them; recording information over time; and sharing that information with others.
What/How: WEN will provide a guided training, packet with activities, and toolkit for you and your group to independently explore, observe, document, and learn. This is a free program and you will have the support of WEN Staff throughout your experience. This program is focusing on people's own backyards and public access sites in Western Montana.
Why: Direct experiences of observing, measuring, and recording changes to local water resources creates an understanding of seasonal changes with water, wildlife, and riparian areas.
Where: Your favorite backyard stream, creek, or pond.
Who: You! This program is open to everyone, wither you fancy independent or group exploration. All kits are catered to meet the learning needs of youth and adults.
