PLAYER CODE OF CONDUCT CONTRACT

Mira Costa High School Lacrosse Player Contract As a MCHS lacrosse player, I promise to:
•First and foremost, remember that what I do both on and off the field represents the image of my school, our athletic program, and my team.
•Show up for all practice and games on time, with proper equipment and ready to play.
•Commit to attending all practices, team activities, and games, even if I am injured.
•Always show respect to all players and coaches through my words and my actions.
•Demonstrate good sportsmanship at all times.
•Respect the privilege of the use of all facilities, whether at my school or another
•Attempt to effectively manage my studies outside of practice and games. Academics is a priority and it is important that our student-athletes manage their time between academics and extracurricular activities. Attempt to schedule appointments, study sessions, group projects, tutors, etc outside scheduled practices and games.
•Help parents and fans understand lacrosse so they can watch and enjoy the game.
•Understand the tradition and legacy of Mira Costa Lacrosse and your part in its heritage.
•Be honest and take responsibility for your actions and their consequences.
•Refrain from using abusive, foul, and/or taunting language or actions at any time.
•Refrain from the use of drugs, tobacco, e-cig/vaping, and alcohol.
•Questions about playing time can be discussed at practice, not before, during or immediately following a game.
•Practice hard, play hard, have fun, and strive to do your best regardless of the score or the  behavior of opponents and fans.
•If an infraction occurs with the agreement above, the coaches may refer the student-athlete to the Athletic Director and School Administrator for further disciplinary action that may include but not limited to, suspension or dismissal from the program.

I UNDERSTAND I AM EXPECTED AT EACH AND EVERY PRACTICE. IF I MISS PRACTICE FOR AN UNEXCUSED REASON I MAY NEED TO MAKE UP CONDITIONING AND/OR INSTRUCTION FROM THE MISSED PRACTICE. THIS MAY REQUIRE ME TO STAY AFTER OR ARRIVE BEFORE THE NORMAL PRACTICE TIME.

-I UNDERSTAND THAT -EXCUSED ACADEMIC ABSENCES DO NOT EXEMPT ME FROM THIS POLICY, UNLESS APPROVED BY THE COACHING STAFF PRIOR.

-I AM EXPECTED AT EVERY PRACTICE AND GAME, EVEN IF I AM INJURED, I WILL TRAVEL TO AND FROM THE GAME WITH THE TEAM IN MY UNIFORM UNLESS APPROVED BY COACHING STAFF TO DO OTHERWISE.

-I UNDERSTAND THAT MISSING PRACTICE IS NOT OK, PARTICIPATION IN PRACTICE, GAMES, AND TEAM ACTIVITIES, ATTITUDE AND EFFORT, FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS, AND MEETING TEAM EXPECTATIONS IS HOW MY LACROSSE PE GRADE IS EARNED.

-REPEATED MISSED PRACTICES, DISRESPECTFUL ATTITUDES, OR CONDUCT DETRIMENTAL TO THE PROGRAM,I understand that I may be referred the student-athlete to the Athletic Director and School Administrator for further disciplinary action that may include but not limited to, suspension or dismissal from the program.
