Cooking - Home Base YK feeds youth in all of its programs, and we always need people to help in the kitchen. We need volunteers to help make groceries list based on recipes, and to cook!

Youth Centre - The Youth Centre is open from 12-8 pm 7 days a week. We need volunteers to spend evenings at the Youth Centre, hanging out with youth, participating in planned activities at the Centre, and supporting staff to create a safe and fun environment for youth

Workshops - planning, working with staff to advertise, and/or running classes or a workshop for youth (share your skills!). For example: art night, cosmetology workshops, skill building workshops (think Makerspace YK!), and more

Recreation Program - Home Base YK runs a rec program with events most nights of the week. Home Base YK needs volunteers to join the rec team to support youth during rec programs. Examples include: soccer practice, basketball night, swimming, day trips on the land, snowboarding, kickboxing, snowshoeing, pottery, mural making, going to the gym

Repair and Maintenance: Home Base YK always needs help with repair and maintenance at our many youth housing program locations

Employment & Tutoring Support - Home Base YK supports youth from 1-3 pm Monday to Friday at the YC to reach their education and employment goals. We always need volunteers to help youth work on their resumes, practice interviewing skills, figure out their goals, do their homework, and build the self-confidence they need to be successful
