Thank you for your interest in joining the Freedom Schools© movement! The Children's Defense Fund Freedom Schools© program is a six-week multicultural literacy-based experience that is deeply rooted in the Civil Rights Movement. Your child(ren) or "scholars" of the program immerse themselves in engaging curriculum, activities and opportunities that exercise critical thinking, camaraderie, social-emotional learning and much more. Although there isn't a cost to attend the program, your attendance of our weekly Parent and Family Engagement Nights and involvement within the program covers your tuition. The first step in this process is to review and complete the Lutheran Social Service (LSS) Imhotep Freedom School Enrollment Form and Parent/Guardian Survey.

Please complete an enrollment form for each child you wish to attend the program. Please kindly note that your child's spot in the LSS STEAM Freedom School is not confirmed until you have received a confirmation and invitation to the Parent Orientation Night you’ve selected.

LSS STEAM Freedom School is available to students who have finished kindergarten through fifth grade by the start of the program date. The program will operate IN-PERSON Monday through Friday from June 20 - July 29, 2022 at Christ the River of Life Church located at 2200 N Fremont Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55411.
