Next school year McDowell High School will offer students in grades 9-12 the opportunity to participate in a McDowell Media tutorial, which allows students to work together to create video, print, and web media for all school publications.
Students interested in joining the McDowell Media tutorial staff will need to be committed to producing content for any of the following areas of focus throughout the year. The tutorial advisers will expect motivated and creative students to produce quality work throughout the school year.
This application is for those interested in creating media and working as a team to get that media out to the Millcreek community.
** Tutorial time will be used for video editing, writing, photography, studio recording, interviewing, or any other step that needs to happen in the media production process. This means that attendance will be necessary on a daily basis. It also means that tutorial will not always be a time for working on homework, in fact, don’t count on it. A media production room should always be generating new ideas for news or content. There should not be “free” time.
**There will be production team meetings and students will fulfill certain jobs on each staff (see links to each staff production below).

Respect of other staff members in terms of skills and creative ideas will be essential and any lack of respect will not be tolerated. Extended issues toward peers or teachers will result in removal from the tutorial.
