Internship
Open Jar Institute is looking for passionate and driven interns for the Summer 2024 season. Interns assist the creative team in preparation and execution of our Summer Intensive Theatre Training Program and may have the opportunity to work as office staff support for Open Jar Studios.

Interns work both in front of and behind the scenes with Open Jar Institute staff, providing the essential needs for the many facets of the workshops.  From working side by side with Broadway Teaching Artists, assisting the staff in organizing and supervising the workshops, catering, and helping the group travel from Broadway shows, restaurants, hotels, and events, this team is an incredibly important part of the summer.

Interns will also have the option to spend part of their time working as support for Open Jar Studios, the premier rehearsal space for upcoming seasons of Broadway shows.  Work at the studio may include anything from setting up and maintaining studio space to working the front desk and assisting with events.

The internship program is a non-paid position, but you WILL receive a ticket to all of the Broadway shows and the opportunity to participate in some of the workshops. During the 4 weeks of Institute, all of your meals will be included. During the week-long breaks between sessions, you may volunteer to work with staff at the studio and during those weeks you will need to provide your own meals.

INTERNS MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK IN NYC SATURDAY, JUNE 24 - FRIDAY, AUG 11, 2023.
Please be considerate of other applicants and apply ONLY if you know you will be available these dates.

You must fill out this form by MARCH 1, 2023 in order to be considered for an intern position.

If your school offers credit for summer internships and your advisor would like more information, please have them contact our Intern Coordinator and Studio Manager, Don Alden, at don.alden@openjarinstitute.com.
