RECESS Internship Application
RECESS is a week-long, intensive internship program at the Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) and meets for two separate sessions during winter and spring school break. As a Recess Intern, you will learn about art and art history with other teens from around New York City. During RECESS I, teens will interview an artist for MAD's Artist studio program and create a podcast. During RECESS II, teens go behind the scenes to develop your own tours, learn a bit about how museums work, and conduct peer-to-peer tours at MAD. Spring RECESS participants receive a weekly unlimited MetroCard and serve as a member of MAD’s teen council.

RECESS I will be held digitally Tuesday, February 16 to Friday, February 19, 2021 from 11:00 am-1pm with a culminating listening party release from 5:00- 6:00 pm on Friday, February 19th, 2021.
There are ten open positions.

RECESS II will be held in-person in the museum Tuesday, March 30th to Friday April 2, 2021 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with a culminating event from 5:00- 6:00 pm on Friday April 2nd, 2021.
