Instructor: Loretta Faveri

Loretta Faveri is a fibre artist and printmaker who has lived in Etobicoke most of her life.  Self-compassion and forgiveness are the foundation of her work.  By cutting and tearing through her creative output, she frees herself from judgement. Stitching the fragments together allows her to build something new and positive from them.  This creative process has become a metaphor for healing painful moments from her past.  She has been sober for four years and is passionate about sharing her story and her creative process with others.

Class Description:

Our inner critic can stifle our creativity and affect many other aspects of our lives.  This course in mindful artmaking will challenge your critic and give you the freedom to express yourself without judgment and bring you moments of joy. The creative process includes cathartic writing, doodling, printmaking and stitching using Japanese paper.

Priority Registration will be given to residents of south Etobicoke, and people in recovery from addiction.

Maximum 10 participants.
