This Apprentice of the Year Award 2022 was designed to recognise an apprentice that demonstrates the overall package, an apprentice that has shown dedication to their training and education, their skills, the industry and the Union. This person has worked hard alongside the industry to achieve the best results in all facets. They have demonstrated outstanding workmanship, passion and dedication to their career and industry.

The Best 2nd Year Apprentices Award recognises the skills and ability of the most outstanding 2nd year apprentice in either fire, mechanical or sanitary. Nominations for this award should demonstrate their ability to learn, listen and take on advice and apply this to their apprenticeship. They demonstrate the willingness to learn and perfect their trade.

The Best 3rd Year Apprentice Award recognises the skills and ability of the most outstanding 3rd year apprentice in either fire, mechanical or sanitary. Nominations for this award should demonstrate their ability to learn, listen and take on advice and apply this to their apprenticeship. They demonstrate the willingness to learn and perfect their trade.

The Best 4th Year Apprentice Award recognises the skills and ability of the most outstanding 4th year apprentice in either fire, mechanical or sanitary.  Nominations for this award should demonstrate their ability to learn, listen and take on advice and apply this to their apprenticeship. They demonstrate the willingness to learn and perfect their trade.

The Young Activist Award focuses on recognising the dedication to the Union Movement and their industry. The award winner will have demonstrated all the Union Values and actively participated in Union activities and events. This person has demonstrated loyalty to his fellow workers, provided support and encouragement to others in the industry and movement and has pathed the way for other young people of the future.

The Apprentice Mentor Award recognises the work and passion that they have invested into young workers and apprentices. This person is being awarded due to their commitment to assisting apprentices and other tradespeople achieve their best in workmanship and in their trade as well has providing ongoing support to those in need. (Please note this award can not be awarded to someone who is paid to do this role but someone in industry who reflects these qualities.)

The Trainer of the Year Award is nominated by the apprentices, tradespeople and other industry bodies, it recognises the effort and dedication of the trainer and the commitment to the apprentices, tradespeople and the Union movement through training and education.

The Union Recognition Award was created to honour a person who is dedicated to the industry and the Union movement. Your nomination should demonstrate a high level of commitment to education, the industry as a whole and building a stronger Unionised trade - pathing the way for the future. They will have demonstrated dedication to actively being involved in Union meetings, events and encouraging others to join the movement.

The Safety Awareness Award is targeted at recognising an individual that has taken safety very seriously, dedicated to ensuring that his work and the workers around him are safe and going home to their families in one piece.
