Please fill out this form to register and receive communications for the Bangor Area K-8 Chess Club. Due to COVID-19, the club will be online on chess.com on Tuesdays & Thursdays 5-6pm. There will be an online in-club tournament that will begin within 15 minutes of the club start time, so it is important to be on time to the zoom and logged in to the online chess club on time. To participate, students will need a free chess.com account (or you can choose to pay for an account with additional features) and access to Zoom (also free) through a url link I will provide. If you need help setting up a chess.com account, please note that on this form, and I will help you during the first online session your child attends. Please contact me at wagszoo@gmail.com if you have any questions. I will also have a special breakout room in Zoom at the start of each club to help students get acquainted with chess.com, find the club and tournament, etc. Beginners and players at all levels are welcome!

Advanced beginner - has a solid understanding of how pieces move and most rules

Intermediate - has a solid understanding of rules, knows some check-mating patterns and common tactics like forks, pins, skewers, discovery, developing pieces, controlling center of board

Advanced Intermediate - knows all of the intermediate stuff plus regularly practices tactics and/or some basic openings
