Invitation to the Conference on Intersectional Discrimination in Youth Work

October 23, 2024, at 4:00 PM

We invite you to the international conference on intersectional discrimination in youth work, which will take place on October 23, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

The aim of the conference is to shed light on the key challenges of intersectional discrimination and its impact on young people. In a world where various forms of discrimination intersect—based on gender, ethnicity, socio-economic status, and other factors—it is crucial to address these complex issues directly, especially in youth work.

Experts and representatives from public institutions and civil society from Romania, Italy, and Slovenia will participate in the event. The conference offers an opportunity to engage in key discussions, share good practices, and develop concrete solutions that will drive change at both the national and European levels.

The main topics of discussion will include:

  • Personal stories and examples of intersectional discrimination faced by young people across Europe.

  • Examples of good practices by NGOs that successfully address intersectional discrimination.

  • Recommendations for establishing a clear and unified definition of intersectional discrimination at the EU level and within national frameworks, including its integration into national legislation that will allow for the prosecution of such crimes.

  • Dialogue with representatives of public institutions on recommendations for better addressing intersectional discrimination.

The conference will be a unique opportunity for dialogue between key stakeholders, including civil society and public institutions, and will play an important role in shaping future policies to combat discrimination.

Your participation will be a valuable contribution to this important discussion. Together, we can pave the way for a more inclusive and just society for all young people.

We look forward to meeting you on October 23 and working together to create meaningful change.
