Recreational reading is reading for leisure. It is
self-selected and independent reading of materials for personal and social purposes.
Why should children engage in Recreational Reading?
Studies have shown that reading for pleasure is an effective way to manage stress by increasing enjoyment and relaxation. It's good for your brain and cognitive development. Recreational reading also can have benefits for your concentration, vocabulary, reading and writing skills, and improving working memory.
Cranes Learning Hub is running a Recreational reading program for children from 3 - 18 years old.
We have selected three story books and novels from topics such as: social development, science and curiosity and popular themes such as: wimpy kid, dock diaries, my weird school series and more.
Once you sign up and confirm attendance we will send you the books either soft or hard copies.
We will send you a form to book 3 zoom appointments to review each book as you review it once a week.
The program will cost you 50,000/- per child.
This will cover the 3 soft copies of the books ( hard copies will be provided at your cost) and 3 one on one zoom appointment sessions with Mrs. Katula to discuss the book and do a book review with your child.
