MaineCat Policy Drafts
Prior to the pandemic, Maine InfoNet was working on the development of draft policies that would help govern interactions between libraries and systems that connect to MaineCat.

Those activities were shelved while Maine Libraries dealt with the rapidly changing environment they were facing during the last two years.

With services (mostly) back to normal, and with the ongoing increases in libraries connecting to MaineCat, it is time to restart that work and put some policies in place to help direct the interaction between libraries.

These policies are not intended to replace the policies in place *within* existing systems (e.g. between two Minerva libraries or with the Colby, Bates, Bowdoin system) but are designed to guide participation in MaineCat and help govern the interaction between libraries from different systems.

Maine InfoNet will be leading discussions at the May 22, 2022 Maine Libraries Association Pre-Conference in an effort to further develop the policies which are presented below in draft form.

With this survey we are asking for librarians from across Maine to provide feedback and comments that will be presented to the pre-conference participants and will be used to rework and revamp these drafts into policies which can be presented to the MaineCat community libraries for adoption by the Maine InfoNet Board.

Please review the policies and indicate whether you agree or disagree with the direction of the drafted policy and provide comments on changes that you feel would be important to make before the policy is adopted.

Multiple responses from librarians within a library are allowable.
