A caucus is an independent body of like-minded individuals who wish to make their voices heard to the SSCCC on a formal basis. A caucus is not sponsored, chartered, or directed by the SSCCC and shall not be charged a fee or dues to be recognized by the SSCCC. With the limited exceptions of SSCCC requirements for caucus guidelines, as shown below, a caucus is free to create processes and/or procedures without any approval of the SSCCC.
The SSCCC shall have standing Caucuses established as a way to ensure healthy student participation and activism. The following shall be established as standing Caucuses:
- Abled Caucus
- Asian Pacific Islander Caucus (API)
- Black Caucus
- FISI (Formerly Incarcerated, Currently Incarcerated & System Impacted Student) Caucus
- Latinx Caucus
- Spectrum Caucus (LGBTQ+)
- Student Trustee Caucus
- Sustainability Caucus
- Veterans Caucus
- Women's Caucus
