CMAC Youth Voices 2024 Application
CMAC Youth Voices is a 10-week documentary filmmaking training program for Central Valley Junior High and High School students, age 18 and under.

Participants will learn how to harness the power of media to tell stories of personal and societal significance through documentary filmmaking. CMAC will provide video production equipment, mentorship, and instruction as members of the Youth Voices cohort develop and produce their own documentary films.

Twelve (12) applicants will be chosen to participate and will receive a $1,000 stipend and a 1-year membership to CMAC. The cohort will meet in person starting Friday, May 31st at 4pm. Please take your time in filling out this application. When prompted - write paragraphs, not one sentence responses. Consideration will be given to applicants who provide thoughtful and professional responses.

Youth Voices includes 10 weeks of documentary storytelling training beginning on Friday, May 31st.  It will require approximately 3-5 hours per week of your attention. Do your summer plans allow you to participate? *
Weekly meetings will run from May 31st through the beginning of August 2024. Meetings are anticipated to be on Friday afternoons from 4–6pm, but the cohort may decide to meet on another day of the week. Some meetings may be held virtually on Zoom instead of in-person. Some excused absences will be permitted, but we'd like you to be available for most of the meetings.
