This is a letter from economists and statisticians about the Bolivian elections. It attempts to correct a false narrative, promoted by the OAS before the votes were even tallied, and repeated by them and also hundreds of major news reports. The errors made by the OAS are quite basic and explained in the letter (and links).

A number of members of Congress have also understood this and are beginning to take action around it. This is important because there has been pressure on the OAS from the Trump administration, which has openly and strongly supported the November 10 military coup in Bolivia; and the US supplies about 60 percent of the OAS budget, in addition to having other leverage.
