GAIN is an international non-profit platform operated by a network of volunteering graduate students. Our main goal is to give underrepresented groups a better access to higher education across the world.

To achieve that, we have a system of mentorship between our volunteers and the participants of the program. The mentors help the participants to: write and edit CV, motivation letters, statement of purpose, and applications; find the right university and graduate program; analyze suitable scholarships etc.

If you want to apply for the master's or PhD abroad and/or for a scholarship for it - you are at the right place. To take part in our program, please fill out this application form.

Note: Although we are carefully considering every application, we can only select some applicants to participate in our program. If you fit the participation criteria but haven't been selected, we put you in the waiting list and suggest you the place in our program if and as soon as we can.

Our program is designed to serve specific target groups. To determine eligibility, please review the following categories and select the ones that apply to you. *

Underrepresented Minorities: applicants from the global South and underrepresented minorities in the Global North.

First Generation: candidates whose parent(s)/legal guardian(s) have not completed a bachelor’s degree.

Gender minorities: women, non-binary applicants, and trans applicants of any gender orientation: lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, or asexual applicants as described by the Human Rights Campaign.

Low-income: candidates from households with net income below the United Nations and World Bank’s poverty measures.

Persons with disabilities: candidates who have a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities, a person who has a history or record of such an impairment, or a person who is perceived by others as having such an impairment.

Refugees and politically persecuted: people who want to leave their country with an authoritarian regime and apply for study abroad as political refugees, people who are running from countries under military conflict, or people who are under political persecution in their own country.

Important Note: Currently, our mentoring services are exclusively available for individuals seeking guidance on master's or PhD program applications. Regrettably, we do not offer mentoring support for bachelor's or postdoctoral applications at this time.
