Class Description:
Continuation of Deutsch 6. This class reviews the fundamentals of communication in German and helps learners become more comfortable with alternating grammatical voices, modes, and tenses, while increasing idiomatic usage of the language in informal conversation. Targeted levels: A2 (CEFR)/Intermediate Mid (ACTFL).
Topics covered in this class are:
Free-time activities and wishes (using the subjunctive)
Making plans to attend events and describing past events
Describing objects and expressing opinions, likes and dislikes; practicing the declension of adjectives
Making comparisons when shopping for something, talking about financial decisions and planning.
Discussing interests and describing collections related to hobbies.
Giving facts and relating circumstances in an impersonal manner (using the passive voice)
Discussing communication habits in the workplace and at home
This course covers chapters 8 - 10 in the textbook (Schritte International Neu, 4).
