Challenges faced by persons who fled from Ukraine to Malta when trying to enrol children/youth into State Schools

We are contacting you on behalf of two Maltese non-profit NGOs: Kopin is, among other things, providing assistance to migrants in Malta  (https://kopin.org);  MAPSSS is representing parents of children enrolled in state schools in Malta (https://mapsss.org).

In collaboration with the Ukrainian community in Malta and the Malta Refugee Council (maltarefugeecouncil.org.mt), we are trying to assist persons who have fled from Ukraine to Malta and who are facing challenges with enrolling their children into public schools.

If you have been facing such issues, we would greatly appreciate it if you could fill in this brief questionnaire.


What we will do with the information you provide:

(1) Inform relevant entities at the Ministry for Education, and particularly the Migrant Learners' Unit, about the issues.

(2) Engage with educational decision-makers to suggest urgent improvements to the system.

(3) Share the information within the network of the above mentioned NGOs, for us to be better prepared to offer assistance to persons who fled from Ukraine to Malta.
