RSVP: Remembering Professor Peter Duus
The Department of History and the Center for East Asian Studies at Stanford University invite you to celebrate Professor Peter Duus' life and his contributions to the scholarship on the history of Japan and East Asia. The memorial will feature remarks from Professor Duus' colleagues, students, and family.

Peter Duus, the William H. Bonsall Professor of History, Emeritus and a widely published expert on the history of Japan and East Asia, passed away on November 5, 2022. He made significant contributions to our understanding of Japanese imperialism and the modern Japanese nation. His research interests focused on Japanese colonialism and imperialism, the development of Tokyo, and modern political cartoons.
