CURRENT OPEN VOLUNTEER POSITIONS
FESTIVAL DIRECTOR - The role of the Festival Director is to maintain, operate, and execute duties pertaining to the successful completion of our annual Film Festival, to help instill a strong, positive collaborative dynamic in staff and reinforce the organizational culture. Oversees operations of the festival venue or the online festival platform, which could include but is not limited to: catering, vendors, special events. Your job is to oversee all the logistics and technical details of getting the festival produced. Your job is to also help instill a strong, positive collaborative dynamic in staff and reinforce the organizational culture.
(Additional Responsibilities will be given upon consideration - a lot to list here).  

DIRECTOR OF PROGRAMMING - Includes the following but is not limited to:
- Manage the FilmFreeway submission website
- Setup dates and submission requirements by November of each year
- Recruit and manage reviewers, train them and get people watching films on a regular basis
- Collect NDAs and ensure each film is properly rated and reviewed
- Solicit and curate new films from various filmmakers and festivals
- Watch all the film and collect, average, and tally up all the ratings and reviews
- Create the final section for each years program no later than 1 month prior to the festival
- Once submissions are finalized, collect all the master files and prepare them for screening.
- Collect additional marketing, posters, bios, and trailers
- Prepare the programming block of films
- Digital all films in screening order and prepare for projection
- Create any additional trailers, bumpers, promos for the festival

SOCIAL MEDIA DIRECTOR - Includes the following but is not limited to:
- Manage all social media focused strategies for Online Marketing Campaign.
- Promote show and events through Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, YouTube, and other social media outlets.
- Manage content and increase traffic on all social media.
- Facebook: Updates every other day, Call to Action to fans to “share” posts, management of discussion and threads
- Leverage YouTube content, “share” links monitored, rotation of profile picture & cover photo, sharing of other pages.
- Twitter: Updates every other day, sponsor updates weekly, active updates on current events related to DC APA Film.
- Upload newspaper clips, magazine articles to Facebook site & coordinate with webmaster to display on website too

TREASURER/FINANCE DIRECTOR - Includes the following but is not limited to:
The Finance Director/Treasurer but will have a pivotal role in managing the finances of DC APA Film. You will be part of the Executive Board and attend regular meetings to keep the E-Board updated on the financial health of the DC APA Film chapter & how it ties into Annual budgeting. Other responsibilities include:
- Manage all financial transactions that occur within the organization.
- Keep physical and electronic record of cash flows in and out.
- Assign money collection duties for each event & follow up accordingly within the week
- Coordinate between different teams to ensure flow of information.
  Reimbursements, Expenses, Sponsorships, Ticket sales, Fundraisers, Merchandise
- Disseminate Monthly reports of the status and health of the organization
- Disseminate Quarterly and Yearly projections
- Work with the Director and all departments on budgeting for the entire year
- Setup approval processes for expenses and processing requests for reimbursement
- Invoicing clients for services, such as performance fees or renting equipment (when applicable)
- Work closely with Exec Board to ensure all tasks are completed and needs are met.
- Work with Finance Director to authorize financial transactions and manage bank account.
- Work with Legal advisor to maintain all paperwork & documents pertaining to DC APA Film (501c3 status, tax paperwork,
  minutes, etc.)
- Help with Applying/Writing Grants and reports
- Provide a financial statement to share with the board and staff at end of calendar year
- Develop a proposed annual budget at start of each calendar year

**BOARD MEMBER - To be part of the Board of Directors
As a member of the Board of Directors (the “Board”), he/she shall manage the affairs and property of the Corporation. The Board shall have, and may exercise, any and all powers provided in the Articles of Incorporation or the District of Columbia Nonprofit Corporation Act which are necessary or convenient to carry out the purposes of the Corporation. The Board shall elect directors and may employ staff and other agents for the Corporation; and shall provide oversight of their activities.
