GCSE Physics Masterclass
Led by our ULMaS Assistant Headteacher, David Hemsley. This course will be an opportunity for keen physicists to apply the knowledge they are learning during GCSE study to complicated scenarios across the main areas of physics, in particular Electricity, Forces, Waves and Energy. Participants will then go on to explore how the subject is developed further at A-Level, forming clear links between their current and future study and offering a taste of advanced physics. Year 10 and 11 students with an interest in physics should find this course both challenging and enjoyable, and are all welcome to attend.

This course will be running every Wednesday at 4.30pm starting on Wednesday 22nd September 2021

There is no charge to take part in this course but priority will be given to students in state funded schools in the Liverpool City Region.

You will need:
- a quiet place to work at home or school
- a computer or tablet that can join a Zoom meeting (microphone and camera not necessary) [if this is a problem please apply anyway and we'll try to find a way to help]
- to be able to join our Google Classroom (you may need to use a personal Google account for this as your school account may not be able to join our classroom)
- the commitment and time to complete work set outside lessons
- pencil and paper

The course is open to year 10 and 11 students in schools in Merseyside and the North West.  You will need to provide a contact email address for the school you attend so that we can check who you are and confirm your suitability for a place.  We will let your school know that you are taking part and may occasionally update them on your progress or contact them if we have any concerns.
