“A Cross-Cultural Perspective on the Emoting Performance Storytelling of the
Native American Pow Wow Dance and the Historically Black College &
University Band Dance Genres Through a PERMA-V Comparison Lens”. This Interview/focus group will assist me in the first of two of my research questions: (1) “How does the emoting preparedness compare between the Native American dancers and the HBCU Band dancers leading up to a performance storytelling event?”.
All interview and focus group guides begin
with: "I understand that discussing cultural history or personal events
can be difficult and may bring up traumatic events. As a participant, you have
an opportunity to opt out of answering any questions that they find too
difficult or distressing, add or strike provided notes from the interview or
focus group, or provide permission to share details (location, tribe, college)
to be provided in the research. If at any point you feel uncomfortable or would
like to stop the interview, please let me know and we can move on to the next
question, take a break or end the interview."
