Once students have been recommended for a course by his/her teacher, parents have the opportunity to sign a Waiver of Course Recommendation form. This form allows students who have met the grade and/or course prerequisite but do not have the teacher’s recommendation to change to a higher instructional level. If a parent signs a Waiver of Course Recommendation form and the student changes into a class other than the one originally recommended, the student will remain in that class for the remainder of the year without exception. Changes into a class are always dependent on the current enrollment in the desired class, and other limitations posed by the required schedule change.
