Parade Rules *
Parade Chairman will make the final decision on all parade applicants, and reserves the right to deny applicants if it is believed that they will bring detriment to the parade. Commercial units must pay $50 in advance NO EXCEPTIONS. Politicians (current office holders and candidates must pay $50 in advance. One fee applies if multiple candidates are on the float). Floats must be in parade lineup by 9am if being judged. All units must be in the parade lineup by 10am. Parade steps off promptly at 11:00am. Exceptions by Parade Chairman only. Motorized Units must have a 5lb or larger fire extinguisher within easy access. All drivers must have a valid driver's license. NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES IN OR AROUND THE PARADE. NOTHING IS TO BE THROWN FROM PARADE VEHICLES (may be passed out by people walking). NO UNIT MAY STOP OR DELAY THE PARADE. No flyers, handouts, brochures, or papers or any propaganda may be handed out without prior approval by the Portsmouth River Days Parade Chairman. All units must check in before lining up in the parade staging area.
