Congratulations on taking this first step in serving your fellow Conquistadores of Don Lugo High School! Please review the Class Officer Position Descriptions prior to applying.

2. Fill out the google form to apply for your position by Friday, September 11. You will receive information about running after. Mrs. Rigo-Witt will host a zoom lunch time meeting to go over running for office VIRTUALLY on Tuesday, Sept. 15.

I agree to faithfully follow and execute the duties and responsibilities of the office and of the Code of Ethics and Conduct set forth in this document. I also agree to support the Don Lugo High School Associated Student Body Constitution. Please read and check each of the following statements. A check in each box means you have read and agree to the terms listed.

GENERAL CODE OF ETHICS - "AS AN ELECTED/APPOINTED PERSON I WILL" *

1. Set a positive example for other students to follow.

2. Strive to exhibit good leadership skills and assume the overall responsibility of my elected or appointed office, and strive to faithfully execute the duties of my office.

3. Support, protect, and defend the aims, purposes, and responsibilities of the high schools, students, teachers, administrators, coaches, clubs, classes, and teams.

4. Accept full responsibility for my own conduct, on or off campus, realizing that as an appointed/elected officer of my student body, my conduct will be frequently judged by all. Therefore, any incidents on or off campus that reflect negatively back to the school could result in my being dismissed from office.

SPECIFIC RULES AND REGULATIONS - "I REALIZE I MUST CONDUCT MYSELF IN A POSITIVE MANNER, THEREFORE I WILL NOT" *

1. Engage in any activity that encourages other students or individuals to break school or district policies or rules or endanger the health and safety of other students or school personnel.

2. Be insubordinate to, interfere with the duties of, or use profane language toward a teacher, coach, staff person, or administrator.

3. Possess, sell, distribute, consume, or be under the influence of controlled substances on or off campus.

4. Earn less than an overall grade of a 2.0 and have not made efforts to bring that grade up.

5. Engage in the theft of property belonging to high schools or their organizations.

6. Deface, damage, or destroy high school buildings grounds, or property.

7. Engage in defamation or slander using Social Media sites.

Required

PENALTIES *

1. I understand and accept the consequences of violations within this code of conduct and ethics.

2. I agree to submit, in writing, my resignation if I violate this code of conduct and ethics. It will be delivered to the Activities Director.

3. If I fail to submit my resignation voluntarily, after it has been determined by the administration of the high school that I have violated the provisions of this agreement, I understand that I will be removed from office if I do.

Notice of Petition

I officially file this petition for my office for the 2020-2021 school year. I understand that I must have an overall G.P.A. of at least a 2.0 in order to run for office, and must maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. in order to remain in the ASB/student government class. I understand that I will be expected to give my time to my school after school hours and my class grade may be affected. I understand that I must obtain all necessary requirements, and I agree to fulfill my duties to the best of my ability if elected. I agree to follow all campaign and election rules and regulations. I am fully aware that the violation of any of these rules may result in my elimination from the race. *
