The European Sustainable Healthcare Awards celebrate the amazing work happening across Europe to accelerate change towards a sustainable healthcare sector.
Organised by Health Care Without Harm (HCWH) Europe and sponsored by Philips, the awards recognise sustainability projects and individuals that are making a real difference in reducing the environmental impact of healthcare activities in the WHO Europe region. The awards are now open for entries to three new categories: the Bolmstedt Innovation Award, Healthy Futures Award, and the Rising Star Award.
Projects can be submitted to multiple award categories if the eligibility criteria are met.
The Bolmstedt Innovation Award
The Bolmstedt Innovation Award recognises a sustainability project in Europe that demonstrates cutting-edge innovation, accelerating the change necessary to build a healthcare sector that is better for planet and people alike. This award celebrates novel and creative solutions that are transforming how we deliver healthcare.
The award is open to current and prospective members of the Global Green and Healthy Hospitals (GGHH) network. Healthcare providers are invited to submit an entry on current or recently-completed sustainability projects at their facilities.
The Healthy Futures Award
The Healthy Futures Award recognises a healthcare sustainability project in Europe that is making a major contribution towards creating a net zero and toxic-free future. This year, this award will spotlight projects that significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions, putting the healthcare sector on the path to zero emissions.
The award is open to current and prospective members of the Global Green and Healthy Hospitals (GGHH) network. Healthcare providers are invited to submit a sustainability project that can demonstrate a significant impact on reducing healthcare emissions at their facilities.
The Rising Star Award
The Rising Star Award recognises an outstanding individual who has gone above and beyond to make a positive contribution to healthcare sustainability efforts in Europe. The Rising Star is an individual who champions environmentally-friendly practices in the workplace, and inspires others to do the same.
This award is open to anyone working in the European healthcare sector. Those working in the sustainable healthcare community are invited to nominate (or self-nominate) an individual they work with who is going the extra mile in driving sustainability efforts at their organisation, and beyond.
