Here's some information regarding the program (le français suit):

Dr. Sue Bennett, medical director at the Vanier Social Pediatric Hub (www.cpsv-vsph.com) is looking for Anglophone and Francophone student volunteers to join More Than Just Soup (MTJS)! The Hub is the first community social pediatric centre of its kind in Ontario and provides bilingual, comprehensive, integrated health and social services to children and youth living in Vanier, a diverse, high needs and underserved community.

The families are extremely grateful for the support and connection, and it's a rewarding opportunity to better understand the impact of the social determinants of health here in Ottawa. We will also hold professional development seminars throughout the year to further your knowledge of social medicine and trauma-informed care, and Dr. Bennett will offer her mentorship to volunteers who are interested in pursuing pediatrics.

Any of the above roles require that you have access to a car. Please note we are unable to provide reimbursement for gas, as we are a non-profit initiative and all sponsors and donations go to families. Please fill out the form below if you are interested in joining! Note that at this time, we are following COVID-19 pandemic public health restrictions and will be maintaining social distancing with families during home visits (ie staying at the doorstep instead of going into the home)
