Plan B One-Step is not for regular birth control and does not protect against STIs. Plan B One-Step will not work if you are already pregnant. Plan B One-Step is not the abortion pill.
If you have an allergy to Levonorgestrel or are currently taking medications that may interact negatively with Levonorgestrel, we recommend contacting a medical professional or reaching out to a Pharmacy or MSU 24-Hour Nurse at (517) 353-5557. We do want to warn against anti-choice hotlines like “OptionLine” that disguise themselves as pro-choice organizations for those seeking pro-choice centered care.
EL Free EC distributes Plan B One-Step, which is a one tablet, one dose emergency contraceptive that helps prevent pregnancy after birth control failure or unprotected sex. Plan B One-Step contains 1.5 mg of Levonorgestrel. Plan B One-Step should be used as directed within 72 hours of unprotected sex for best efficiency. The sooner you take it the more effective it is.
If you or someone you know is an imminent danger to themselves or someone else, please call 911, or go to the nearest emergency room. If you or someone you know needs confidential information due to sexual assault or relationship violence, please contact SACI (Sexual Assault Crisis Intervention) hotline at (517) 372-6666
