This scholarship is meant to help one aspiring young individual get a successful start at Beekeeping. The winning applicant will receive everything needed to start one hive.
- One five frame deep Italian hybrid nuc
- One Deluxe Beekeeping Kit: woodenware, jacket, gloves, hive tool, smoker, feeder, bee brush, and beginner book.
- One registration for one beginner beekeeping class at Bemis Honey Bee Farm, taught by Rita's husband, Richard Underhill, who is an experienced E.A.S. certified Master Beekeeper.
Applicant Criteria:
- Current Arkansas resident
- Age: 16 - 30 years old
- Has never owned a Honey bee colony

Winner Announced: March 5, 2025
Beginner Beekeeping Class: March 22, 2025
(The winner is required to take a beginner class before receiving live Honey bees.)
