Limited Enrollment Class
Instructors can choose to limit the enrollment in their class. While it’s generally preferred to have open enrollment of all interested residents, there are course-specific reasons that support a limited enrollment. These could include prerequisites, participation in a prior class, or discussion-focused class.
If you are selecting a limited enrollment class, your course abstract should provide a specific explanation (brief) including the maximum number of participants. It is helpful for residents to know the selection criteria for limited enrollment courses so that they have realistic expectations. Limited enrollment classes will be specifically highlighted as such in the PCU course catalog. Residents will be informed about the process for getting into a limited enrollment class, especially that it is not first come first served. Participants for limited enrollment classes will be selected by a blind lottery in advance of the start of the class.
