Mrs. Hardy's Freshman Physics Class Disclosure
Course Description:
Welcome to your first year of High School!  Your freshman year is the beginning of the path to graduation. Your performance in class now counts toward graduation and will be recorded on transcripts that accompany your applications to college. Physics is a high school class. This course is has three main ideas: the motion of objects, forces acting on objects, and energy.

In this course, we will cover a thorough introduction to physics and some of the math that goes along with it. There will be math in this class. Each student must be able to perform basic algebra. Physics is an "applied science" and requires good math skills.

In Physics, we will see how to apply scientific principals to what we see happening in the world around us. Through different assignments and investigations, we will work to be able to explain, and maybe even predict, the motion of object, what is happening, and where it comes from and even where it goes.

This year will be a successful year if every student gains a better understanding and appreciation for science.  I fully expect that students will work hard to achieve their full potential and to perform to the best of their ability.  I am available to students and parents 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after school or by appointment. During class, I will not be available to respond to emails but I will return messages as soon as I am able.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns, I welcome emails and am happy to set up face-to-face meetings.  I am 100% committed to doing all that I can to set students up to win in this class.
