Project Fleck - Collegium Invisibile Academic Society in Poland - Program for students from Ukraine
Collegium Invisibile invites students from Ukraine to its mentoring and scholarship program - Project Fleck.

Collegium Invisibile Academic Society in Poland is an independent registered charity NGO, which works towards the improvement of academic standards in Poland through fostering collaboration and transfer of experience and knowledge through mentoring. All of Collegium’s projects rest on the principal values of open-mindedness, collaboration, and accountability. In accordance with its original goals, the society continues to foster an intellectually stimulating network of purpose-driven individuals committed to civil society.

Project Fleck was founded in 2008 to honor Ludwik Fleck, a Polish-Jewish scientist and theorist of knowledge born in Lviv and active in Poland, Austria, and Israel. The purpose of this edition is to provide tangible support to students of all nationalities and ethnic backgrounds who are enrolled at Ukrainian universities (mostly between 19 and 27 years of age) and who were forced to flee the country from the atrocities of the Russian invasion and acts of violence against civilians.

Each beneficiary will be assigned to an advanced Polish student who will offer mentoring support, which could include:
- introduction to Polish and international research institutions, including the procedure of continuing their studies by re-enrolling at Polish universities,
- guidance regarding scholarship and grant applications,
- language practice and the broadening of mutual interests,
- suggestions regarding further career prospects beyond their current program of studies,
- development of an ongoing mentoring relationship beyond the program itself
- networking in Polish academia.

Currently we plan 30 pairs to start collaboration, which is scheduled to consist of at least 8-10 contact hours over the period April - June 2022. The meetings will be tailored to the needs and expectations of the mentee, with whom mentors will share their “good practices” and will inspire and further motivate their work despite external challenges. We are committed to providing a platform that will engender unmediated forms of academic help by introducing its beneficiaries into a network of contacts and letting them experience proverbial “Polish hospitality” at academic institutions in Poland.

To apply for this program, please fill this form until 31st of March 2022.

The results of each collaboration will be certified by a diploma attesting to the program's completion issued by Collegium Invisibile Academic Society, whose prestigious position within Polish academia will help strengthen the credentials of refugee students within the Polish context. The program will culminate in a weekend symposium to be held online, which will allow all participants meet each other and further enhance their professional skills through carefully tailored workshops led by mentors.

Project is supported by fundraising campaign organized by Princeton Polish Society with Collegium Invisibile. Raised funds will become a Ludwick Fleck scholarship for the participants of the program. Two scholarships will be provided by Polish organization Fundusz Talenty.
