PLEASE READ &  ENSURE MEMBERS OF YOUR TEAM KNOW THE RULES - THIS CAN BE ACCESSED ON OUR WEBSITE   selkirkbiz.ca      KEEP OUR SPECTATORS SAFE! Candy, etc. is to be handed out only by adult designated walkers not thrown from float or vehicle. Any violators will have their future parade entry reviewed. All registered floats must designate a minimum of two adult volunteers as safety walkers (in addition to handout walkers) . If possible, have these volunteers wear colours that stand out or clothing that has your organization branding so they can be seen.  These individuals will walk along both sides to help alert your team & driver of any safety concerns. SAFETY IS A PRIORITY On parade day, arrive at the Marshaling Street locations (see map) no earlier than 8:00 am & no later than 9:15 AM.  (some streets will be closed at 9:30). Entries will be viewed for compliance during this time. Marshaling streets are first come first served (see map for details)  Do not block driveways or intersections . Clean up any mess left behind and be respectful to residents.  All floats must keep pace with the float ahead to lessen the gaps – no slowing or stopping otherwise. The lead car will stop periodically to allow the rest of the parade to catch up. Young participants must have adult supervision Water balloons, water guns and spraying of water or any objects at spectators is not allowed. Entries must be decorated and adhere to all road & vehicle regulations/rules  The parade is a community event and all entries must be family friendly and socially acceptable. Inappropriate music (profanity/swearing/degrading, etc.), behaviour or attire unsuitable for viewing by our family audience is not acceptable.  Selkirk Biz reserves the right to disallow any entry deemed inappropriate. The Parade Marshal has the final say before a float enters the parade route.

Detailed description of entry - include type & number of vehicles (limit of 3), description of theme & decorations, activities of participants, type & description of handouts (if using). Entries will be pre-viewed prior to entering parade route and compared to your description. Any entries non-compliant could be excluded from entering the parade route - see rules *

Other payment options - 24 hour drop off at 630 Sophia Street in Selkirk in drop box outside main doors in a sealed envelope addressed to Selkirk Biz.  Payment must be received by our office prior to parade day. An NSF cheque will result in a $20.00 charge. Any entry in default of payment will be denied access into any future parade. *

PLEASE READ & ACKNOWLEDGE BELOW    Waiver:  In consideration of having an entry accepted or permitted into the Selkirk Biz (Chamber of Commerce) Fair Parade, I do hereby release and waive Selkirk Biz (Chamber of Commerce) and the City of Selkirk of and from all manner of liability, action, suits and claims what so ever with respect to my individual, company, and/or organization participation in the said Fair Parade.  I acknowledge that I have the full and proper authority to provide this release and waiver for myself, organization, and/or company and will indemnify and save harmless the Selkirk Biz (Chamber of Commerce) and the City of Selkirk of and from any liability, action, causes of action suit and claims what so ever that may arise as a result of my individual, organization or company’s participation in the Fair Parade.  I further acknowledge that I am responsible for any parade entry, people, animals and equipment that are connected to my entry in the Fair Parade. *
