Pārongorongo Mai Ngā Tamō Atu i Te Mauiui / Request an Absence From Kura Other Than Illness
Tari / Admin:  Whānau can request permission from the Tumuaki to keep tamariki out of kura for a particular reason if there is a good reason for them not attend school (temporarily).  Tamariki are sometimes permitted to be away from kura for a period of no more than five kura days.  Research shows that missing 10 percent of the school, or about 18 days, negatively affects a student's academic performance. That's just two days a month and that's known as chronic absence.
