TIOH members will be volunteering on Monday, April 8, at the Hollywood Food Coalition’s dinner for community members experiencing homelessness and anyone in need of a hot meal. The dinner is prepared and served at The Salvation Army's Hollywood Campus at 5939 Hollywood Blvd.
Volunteers must be at least 15 years old.

TIOH members will work with Hollywood Food Coalition staff on one of two shifts:
MEAL PREP 1:30–4 p.m. (4 volunteers needed)
The preparation shift offers a variety of kitchen jobs related to the food items donated for that day. These jobs may include:
- Cutting fruits and vegetables for salads
- Assembling bread bins and dessert trays
- Making sandwiches
- Preparing any other donated foods to be served that evening
- Cleaning and tidying up.

MEAL SERVICE 5:30–8:00 p.m. (6 volunteers needed)
Meal service volunteers should be comfortable interacting with the coalition's vulnerable guests, and be able and willing to chat, answer questions, and direct them to the lead volunteer for information about additional services. All volunteers are required to wear a mask, gloves, and disposable aprons, all of which are provided. The meal-service shift offers a variety of jobs, including:
- Finishing prep work
- Lifting and moving items
- Setting up tables and samovars
- Adding packaged, cold food to go-to containers
- Greeting and providing hand sanitizer to guests
- Serving the freshly prepared meal
- Distributing clothing or other items
- Breaking down tables
- Helping clean the kitchen, including wiping tables, sweeping and mopping, helping wash and dry dishes, and putting away all items used during the meal service.
