Philosophy
Campus Calgary / Open Minds gives teachers the opportunity to move their classroom to a vibrant community site for an entire week.  While working alongside experts, the teacher designs and implements a year-long interdisciplinary study that uses the week at the site as a catalyst for learning.  Curriculum expectations can be met through meaningful connections to the real world.
How to apply
1. Teacher applications require administrative (principal) support and acknowledgement of participation for the 2024-25 school year, costs are $1500/week, and that you need to meet your school's volunteer ratio for participation.

2. Please have all information ready before you start this google form. Please have your Application Supporting Document complete as you will need to email it to jlmeredith@cbe.ab.ca either before beginning this google form or immediately afterwards.

3. You have used the Campus Calgary / Open Minds Application Supporting Document to share your year’s intentions:
a) What is your Big Idea or Question or Provocation and how do you see this influencing and inspiring your year’s work?   
b) What do you hope and/or want your students to come to understand as part of this Campus Calgary / Open Minds experience? 
c) Campus Calgary / Open Minds is just as much for teachers as it is for students. With that in mind, what do you want to come to understand as part of this CC/OM experience?  
d) Why this site? How do you anticipate this site supporting your big question and your students’ learning?  
e) Tell us about your students and school community.

4. You will email your Application Supporting Document to Jenn Meredith - jlmeredith@cbe.ab.ca.

5.  Check the Campus Calgary / Open Minds website (ccom.cbe.ab.ca) for the most up-to-date details as well as an informative "New to Applying" section on the Apply page.  Information about important inservice dates will also be found on our website.

6.  Complete the application form online. Submit it and email your Application Supporting Document to jlmeredith@cbe.ab.ca by Wednesday May 8, 2024 (11:59 p.m.). Teachers find out acceptance status on Thursday May 23, 2024.
Guidelines
Teachers may write a team proposal if wanting to apply as a teaching team and weeks attended will be scheduled back-to-back when/if possible.
