"The
French Choir of Washington " est une organisation à but non lucratif, placée sous la direction artistique de Simon Charette, ses répétitions se déroulent en français (mais peuvent se faire en anglais aussi, en fonction des besoins), son répertoire est essentiellement dans la langue française (mais pas que), ses membres des francophiles de la région de Washington DC.
Si vous aimez chanter et souhaiter pratiquer au sein d'une chorale (sympathique) pour vous améliorer et participer à des concerts localement, n'hésitez pas à nous rejoindre (même débutant) !
Les répétitions sont hebdomadaires (le mardi) et ont lieu le soir de 20:00 à 22:00, dans les locaux de North Bethesda United Methodist Church (10100 Old Georgetown Bethesda MD 20814) jusqu'à mai inclus (voir notre planning complet de l'année ICI).
Le recrutement des nouveaux choristes se fait sur audition individuelle avec Simon Charette, Directeur Artistique, avant la première répétition. L’objectif est d’évaluer la justesse de votre voix pour vous « placer » au sein de la chorale et cela ne prendra que quelques minutes.
Une participation aux frais de fonctionnement de la chorale est demandée sur confirmation de l'inscription et après audition, payable d'avance pour le reste de l'année scolaire. Les frais de participation à The French Choir of Washington s’élèvent à la somme de USD 150.00 pour la période de janvier à mai 2024, à régler en totalité dès la confirmation de votre inscription (après audition). Possibilité d’avoir un tarif réduit pour les étudiants (sur demande) ou pour les personnes ayant des revenus modestes (que l'argent ne soit pas un obstacle).
Cette participation aux frais de fonctionnement couvrent en priorité les frais de location de la salle pour les répétitions hebdomadaires, la rémunération du directeur artistique Simon Charrette et celle de notre pianiste. Elle permet aussi d'assumer le coût de l'organisation d'évènements pour les membres de la chorale.
Les frais de participation réglés par chaque choriste étant entièrement consacrés au bon fonctionnement de la chorale, à l’organisation de concerts et, de facon générale, à l’accomplissement de la mission de the French Choir of Washington, ils ne sont pas remboursables.
Cette chorale a vocation à se développer et à progresser. Nous acccueillons les nouveaux choristes tout au long de l'année.

"The French Choir of Washington" is a non-profit organization, under the artistic direction of Simon Charette, its rehearsals are in French (but can be in English too, depending on needs), its repertoire is mainly in the French language (but not only), its members are "francophiles" from the Washington DC area.
If you love to sing and would like to practice in a (friendly) choir to improve your skills and take part in local concerts, don't hesitate to join us (even as a beginner)!

Rehearsals are weekly (Tuesdays) and take place in the evenings from 20:00 to 22:00, on the premises of North Bethesda United Methodist Church (10100 Old Georgetown Bethesda MD 20814) from September to May inclusive. New choristers are recruited upon individual audition with Simon Charette, Artistic Director, before the first rehearsal. The aim is to assess your voice's ability to "place" you within the choir, and this will only take a few minutes. For this new academic year, auditions will take place on Tuesday, September 12 from 8:00 pm at North Bethesda United Methodist Church (10100 Old Georgetown Bethesda MD 20814).
A contribution to the choir's running costs is requested on confirmation of enrolment and after audition, payable in advance for the rest of the school year. Participation fees for The French Choir of Washington are USD 250.00 for the 2023-24 school year, payable in full upon confirmation of registration (after audition). Reduced fees are available for students (on request) or for people of modest means (money .
should not be an issue or obstacle for you to join).
This contribution to operating costs primarily covers the cost of renting the hall for weekly rehearsals, as well as the remuneration of our artistic director Simon Charrette and our pianist. It also covers the cost of photocopies of scores made available to choristers who are unable to print them at home, and the organization of events for choir members.
The participation fees paid by each chorister are entirely devoted to the smooth running of the choir, the organization of concerts and, in general, the accomplishment of the mission of the French Choir of Washington, and thus ARE NOT REFUNDABLE.
The choir's vocation is to grow and develop. We welcome new choristers throughout the year.
