IGNITE Member Application Form
At UCLA, our IGNITE participants are passionate about bettering their communities, but may not always understand the role of political leadership in that process. Our chapter teaches young college women how to think critically about policy and understand where the levers of power to make change actually reside. Via our high school curriculum, other Southern California college chapters, annual conferences, and elected women network, IGNITE at UCLA teaches young women how to become civically engaged in order to ultimately step into public service and enact political change.

Ignite at UCLA in particular reaches out to women on campus who are eager to become the next generation of political leaders. We hold meetings every other week on campus and discuss various topics related to women’s rights, such as confidence, reproductive justice and sexual harassment. Oftentimes we host guest speakers who have tackled these situations and made it into public office. This allows women to realize their full potential in the political world because they come out feeling confident and ready to run. We go off campus at least once a quarter to attend various conferences. These events help us form a large network of powerful women who will support each other whenever one decides to run for office. It also grants an opportunity to exchange information regarding internships, jobs, or fellowships that will enhance the career of another woman. We create a space to share opportunities that would otherwise be unattainable for many.
