CCYHA Scholarship Application
FINANCIAL SCHOLARSHIP POLICY
The Columbus Chill Youth Hockey Association (CCYHA) is proud to offer Financial Scholarships to those families in need of financial assistance. Each year a predetermined amount is set-aside for annual Scholarship Assistance by the board. Once all applications are submitted for Scholarship Assistance, the recipient’s scholarship amount will be determined by the board based on need and the scholarship funds available.
CCYHA Financial Scholarship Policy:
1. All families requesting a Financial Scholarship must complete the Financial Aid Application. Incomplete applications will be returned. A separate application for each player is required.
2. Applicants may be awarded full or partial scholarships dependent on funds available. Awards may not exceed total fees for the house hockey season.
3. As part of its annual budget, CCYHA will determine a dollar amount that will be set aside as a Scholarship Assistance Fund. The total amount of Assistance awarded to all families cannot exceed the amount budgeted.
4. Scholarship Assistance is designed to help families get through periods of financial stress. It is not designed as an annual subsidy, and, unless an exception is approved by the board, is limited to two years per player. Preference will be given to those applicants whose families qualify for public assistance programs such as lunch subsidies, medical assistance and unemployment insurance.
5. Scholarship Assistance will be provided to cover CCYHA registration fees only. Any assistance granted will be applied as a credit to the player’s CCYHA account and not in cash.
6. Scholarship Assistance applicants may be required to provide additional volunteer hours.
7. All Scholarship Applications must be submitted no later than September 1 (sooner is better).
8. Financial Assistance is provided at the sole discretion of the CCYHA Board.
9. All Information is kept confidential.
