MAACS Mentor/Tutor Application (2021-2022)
MAACS is Mentoring for Academic Achievement and College/Career Success.

Our program is designed to provide college/career access mentoring through a once a week meeting with a college mentor where the mentor and the mentee can explore future career or college possibilities. We also provide academic support and tutoring for students to help them accomplish their academic goals.

MAACS is a program of the Bridgeport Public Education Fund (BPEF) and it ties into the mission of the BPEF by preparing students for success in college, careers and life.

Mentors serve as advisors to selected students at Bassick, Bridgeport Military Academy, Central, Fairchild Wheeler and Warren Harding High Schools. The high school students are asked to fill out an application to enter the program. Guidance counselors and faculty may also recommend students. Mentors work one-on-one with the students assisting them with their college application needs.

Tutors serve just to assist students solely with academic work, they will be matched either one on one or in small groups to meet the academic support needs of the students.
