We are bringing you yet another, "out of this world" experience to VTF this year! We have
The 24 Hour Plays creating specialized programming, just for us! They come to schools too so if you enjoy it this weekend, talk to your troupe director about getting them to come to your school after festival!
Please complete the form below if you are interested in getting involved! We especially need a headcount in advance for our directors and writers. You will still be able to enjoy a lot of other workshops, etc. at festival. We ask though that if you are participating in the all-state show already, you do not go out for this opportunity as the scheduling will be too complicated. Double check your one act schedule before signing up too. Spots are limited!
SCHEDULE:
Friday, January 13th (2pm-4pm block): Meet and Greet -
- All participants will gather in one room to kick off the festivities.
- Actors will present one thing they’ve wanted to do on stage and a special skill, as well as a costume piece and a prop. (Approx. 1 hour)
- Directors and writers will stay after to draft actors into their plays. (Approx. 1 hour)
**DURING WORKSHOP #2 on FRI- ALL REQUIRED for 1st half of time, then you can go to another workshop later. We will let guest artists know why you are late.
Friday Night and Saturday morning: Writing time!
Writers will have until 12pm to submit their final scenes,
and will be paired with an accountability buddy at the
Meet and Greet. A producing ambassador will be
available via email/text throughout the evening and for
in-person office hours in the morning 9 am - 12 pm in BRC 108 for final feedback
and notes. **OPTIONAL: Playwrights stop by for feedback, or do this on your own time.
Saturday Afternoon: Actors and directors will receive
their scripts on a rolling basis as they are completed by
12pm Saturday. Rehearsals and mini-techs will take place
from 2:15-5:00pm in the Armstrong Concert Hall and
surrounding spaces.
CALLED TIMES FOR ACTORS & DIRECTORS:
- Playwrights optional
- either during workshop #5 (BLUE TRACK) or #6 (GOLD TRACK) you will stage the show.
- Performance time: Track Gold participants will perform at 5:45pm &
- Track Blue participants will perform at 8:00pm.
