SDF Mixer Support (August 19-21, 3 hour commitment)

SDF Closing Party Event Support: (4 hour commitment on August 22nd 5:00-9:00pm, location TBD).

Onsite Community Outreach and Promotion Volunteer (4 hour commitment, July 26- July 28, Possible Shifts: 11am-3pm or 3pm-7pm @Lumen Field Event Center, 800 Occidental Ave S, Seattle, WA 98134)

Tabling at the Seattle Art Fair to promote the Seattle Design Festival.

Video Editor Volunteer (Commitment: June 10- August 1, Flexible hours)

Video editors will help edit our pre-recorded SDF programs!

Trim and edit video footage to create cohesive narratives.
Incorporate graphics, text overlays, and animations to enhance video content
Ensure videos align with brand guidelines and maintain a consistent aesthetic.

Block Party Volunteer (Commitment: August 16,17, or 18, 4-20 hours, depending on your availability)

Block Party Volunteers provide day of festival support. Depending on your interests/preferences some examples of festival roles/duties include: Production Support, Evaluation Support, Social Media Support, Screen Printer, and Partner/Guest Support. You will be able to select your specific role(s) and shift availability during the orientation period.

Design in Community Volunteer (Flexible hours + commitment)

Design in Community volunteers enable the Seattle Design Festival further its content strategy by delivering subject-centered, design-focused stories for publication through the festival’s digital channels. Responsibilities may include (depending on your interests):
1. Sourcing: Assist in identifying and developing story leads.
2. Audio: Collect audio through subject interviews.
3. Stills: Photograph designers during the interviews and in their design environments.
4. Audio production: Enhance and edit collected audio for use in the final multimedia story.
5. Multimedia production: Produce the final multimedia piece by pairing stills to the final audio story..
6. Writing: Author articles to accompany the final multimedia pieces for publication on the website.
Since Design in Community offers a flexible volunteer opportunity, contributors may work on a single component of a project within a team. Or volunteers may work on all elements of a project, depending on context or interest.
