According to the Minnesota Department of Employment and Development, "Exports of manufactured goods, services, and agricultural commodities to foreign countries are an extremely important part of Minnesota's economy, accounting for $33 billion in revenue annually and tens of thousands of jobs statewide." Meanwhile, Minnesota's population continues to diversify. Therefore, CTE instructors must prepare their students to compete, connect, and cooperate in a global economy and within their diverse communities. You will leave this interactive, hands-on training with an understanding of which workforce readiness skills are important for success in the global economy and how to integrate them into what you are already teaching, while meeting your required standards. We will work with you to integrate global content into your courses and share examples of engaging CTE projects as well as free online professional development courses and tools. Employer perspectives will be shared by a panel of local business leaders.
Held in person on campus at the University of Minnesota, West Bank.
