Thanks to the generosity of individuals and organizations, KURIOS is able to offer a variety of bursaries to its participants. Below you will find information about each of the bursaries as well as the opportunity to indicate which bursaries you will be applying for.  Please read each carefully.

Friends of Kurios Bursary
Description:

The Friends of Kurios Bursary has been funded by individuals and organizations who believe in the vision of Kurios. These are predominantly members of the Canadian Baptists of Western Canada family. For 2022/23, the Bursary amount is $2,500.  

Eligibility Criteria:

All 2022-2023 participants are automatically eligible to receive a $2,500 Friends of Kurios Bursary. This will be awarded in December of 2022.  Beyond indicating below that you would like to receive this bursary, no additional application is required.

Hopehill Bursary
Description:

Hopehill is a CBWC ministry which provides housing and care for Vancouver seniors on a fixed income. They have generously provided 6 bursaries to Kurios participants because they believe in the next generation of leaders and the Kurios mission. Each bursary is $2,500.

Eligibility Criteria:

All 2022-2023 Participants are eligible to apply for a Hopehill Bursary. Recipients of the Hopehill Bursary will take a leadership role in building relationships with the Hopehill Community throughout their Kurios experience. Specific ways of building relationships will be developed by the 6 recipients, but may include making/sending prayer cards, initiating phone/zoom/email connections, meeting with the community in person when we travel to Vancouver, etc.

Applicants will be evaluated by the answers to the application questions. Successful applicants will demonstrate a depth of thoughtfulness, a strong emotional connection, and a willingness to spend time building relationships with aging people.

CBWC Women's Bursary
Description:

The CBWC Women’s Bursary aims to encourage growing faith among young women in the CBWC family. For 2022/23, there are a total of 8 Bursaries available, each being in the amount of $250.

Eligibility Criteria:

Young women who regularly attend a Canadian Baptists of Western Canada (CBWC) church and/or camp are eligible to apply. Bursaries will be awarded to the first 8 eligible applicants.
